چکیده

The electronic transmission and conductance of Dirac electrons in an armchair graphene nanoribbon under external voltage are investigated with the transfer matrix method. We investigate velocity nanoribbons presence single multiple barriers show that coefficients can be modulated by varying order mode, number carbon atoms, barrier velocities. In particular, we find appears to fully transparent when Fermi velocities equal. Our numerical results is sensitive applied which used tailor properties graphene-based devices.

Conductance quantization in graphene nanoribbons: Adiabatic approximation

A theory of electron states for graphene nanoribbons with a smoothly varying width is developed. It is demonstrated that the standard adiabatic approximation allowing to neglect the mixing of different standing waves is more restrictive for the massless Dirac fermions in graphene than for the conventional electron gas. In general, one can expect a well-pronounced conductance quantization only f...

Evolution of graphene nanoribbons under low-voltage electron irradiation.

Though the all-semiconducting nature of ultrathin graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) has been demonstrated in field-effect transistors operated at room temperature with ∼10(5) on-off current ratios, the borderline for the potential of GNRs is still untouched. There remains a great challenge in fabricating even thinner GNRs with precise width, known edge configurations and specified crystallographic or...

Voltage-driven spintronic logic gates in graphene nanoribbons

Electronic devices lose efficacy due to quantum effect when the line-width of gate decreases to sub-10 nm. Spintronics overcome this bottleneck and logic gates are building blocks of integrated circuits. Thus, it is essential to control electronic transport of opposite spins for designing a spintronic logic gate, and spin-selective semiconductors are natural candidates such as zigzag graphene n...

Negative Differential Thermal Conductance in Graphene Nanoribbons: Toward Graphene Thermal Circuits

Graphene has received much attention due to its remarkable electronic properties. It also has exceptional thermal properties, such as an unusually high thermal conductivity. Understanding thermal transport of graphene is of great importance to the applications for future graphene‐based devices in energy efficient nanoelectronics. We have calculated the thermal current of symmetric...
